A. Wellness seems to be a permanent trend with three exciting new openings in 2022 that will help you recenter and reset. Joali Being in the Maldives welcomes guests to embark on a journey to reflect and connect with their inner-self in a safe, welcoming environment unlike anywhere else. The personalized immersion programs offered are tailored towards areas such as restorative sleep, movement alignment, weight rebalance, and mental wellbeing. Reset Telluride opened this past May with a six-day retreat that empowers every guest to “challenge and indulge in equal measure” while enjoying Colorado's serene, natural environments. The Ranch Italy at Palazzo Fiuggi is a recently opened offshoot of The Ranch in Malibu, where each program focuses on results-oriented fitness aided by knowledgeable experts. The Ranch has also announced the launch of The Ranch Hudson Valley, set to welcome guests in 2023.

B. The Twenty Two, a new hotel and membership club located in an Edwardian manor in London, welcomed travelers and creatives for the first time this Spring. The property has 31 rooms and suites designed with a flare of 18th century French decor, rich silks, and lush velvet furniture. As for dining, The Twenty Two’s neighborhood restaurant serves modern British cuisine with Mediterranean influences. The Member's Club is a special part of this establishment with spaces exclusively for guests and club-members, not the general public.

C. Naoshima, the famous art island in Japan known for its land art instillations and unique museums, welcomed a new ryokan in April called Naoshima Ryokan Roka. Ryokan Roka itself is an art project, as it serves as a gallery and a venue for getting to know other art connoisseurs and collectors from around the globe. The hotel is made up of 11 suites featuring contemporary art works, a restaurant serving kaiseki meals, artist studios, and an outdoor fire pit in the center for gatherings.

D. In June 2022, Lake Como’s Passalacqua opened its doors as a hotel for the first time since its construction in 1787. This historic private villa has 24 rooms and suites spread across three buildings that each have spectacular views of the lavish gardens, Lake Como or the village of Moltrasio. Dining here is always a treat with options including an extravagant picnic down at the lake, a candlelit dinner amongst the rose garden, or a pasta making class before a grand feast.

E. Ralph Bousfield (of Jack’s Camp, in the Kalahari Desert) and Colin Bell (of the Natural Selection group of safari lodges) teamed up to debut a new lodge this past summer, located on Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Following along in Jack’s Camp’s noteworthy style, Duke’s Camp’s decor exudes old-world glamour with a Persian tea-tent and sleeping tents outfitted with Persian rugs and hand-carved four-poster beds. With sustainability at its core, over 50% of the structures were made from recycled and upcycled materials.

F. After a flood in 2020, Tanzania’s andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp underwent an extensive remodel and reemerged this summer as the new andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge. With sustainability in mind, the property has doubled the size of guest suites, which include outdoor decks with private plunge pools. Situated in the Serengeti along the banks of the Grumeti River, the lodge offers access to view the great migration, as well as top-notch game viewing opportunities via drives, bush walks and hot air ballooning.

G. The new Habitas Bacalar opened up in Quintana Roo’s Southern region, not far from Mexico’s border with Belize. There, along La Laguna de Los Siete Colores (the Lagoon of Seven Colors) surrounded by mangroves sits this new haven, which features 35 stand-alone guest rooms, with outdoor showers and ocean or jungle views. Activities include paddle-boarding and kayaking on the lagoon, participating in guided meditations and yoga classes, and enjoying the spa’s vast array of wellness treatments which utilize local and ancient healing techniques.

H. Aman New York recently opened its second urban branch in the NYC's Crown Building located on Fifth Ave and 57th Street. This property is on floors 7-14 where 83 suites offer immersive city views and luxuries such as heated bathroom floors and fireplaces. Aman New York treats guests with a spa and integrative wellness sanctuary, a speakeasy style jazz club, a garden terrace, as well as two fine dining restaurants featuring Southern Italian and Japanese cuisine.

I. Restoration Hardware's first hotel, RH Guesthouse, debuted in September in New York City's Meatpacking District. The property features only 6 rooms and 3 suites, making for both an intimate and luxurious stay. The Dining Room, a dramatic live-fire restaurant, is open to the public, but a Champagne and Caviar bar is available to hotel guests only.

J. Located in Baltimore’s Mount Vernon neighborhood, the stylish new Hotel Ulysses offers guests art-deco-infused suites decorated with bed quilts hand-embroidered in Rajasthan and bathroom mirrors in the shape of amphorae. This elegant hotel cherishes it’s posh restaurant, Ash-Bar, an all-day bistro taking themes from steam train dining cars and European cafes.

K. The Tin Building by Jean-Georges is the newest addition to the NYC's Seaport neighborhood. On-site one can find six restaurants and four casual dining venues along with beer and wine bars. This culinary destination also holds two grocery stores filled with locally sourced seafood, cheeses, meats, rare produce, and much more. This never-ending journey of flavors and delicious delights is an exceptional addition to downtown's dining options.

L. Villa Palladio, located just outside of Jaipur, opened this Fall as a luxurious country estate featuring bright, bold colors in all corners of the design. Cuisine served highlights locally-grown, organic produce that fall in line with seasonal rhythms and traditional Old World recipes. With an arched pool house, full library, and secret jasmine gardens, the villa creates a space of delight and the opportunity to enjoy this wonderland.

M. Nestled in the Hudson Valley, Wildflower Farms opened this October on an 140-acre field filled with rippling rivers, woodlands and mountain views. The resort provides an array of hands-on experiences such as cooking classes with invited chefs, foraging, vegetable farming, and botanical mixology classes. A three-mile walking trail connects the different property buildings and their glassy outdoor pool, giving guests an opportunity to indulge in and connect with their natural surroundings.

N. Fans of Four Season’s Sensei Lanai will rejoice in next month’s opening of Sensei Porcupine Creek, located near Palm Springs at the foot of the Santa Rosa Mountains. In addition to spa treatments and fitness classes, guests can enjoy an 18-hole golf-course, hard and clay tennis courts, hiking, and a private dining experience, Sensei By Nobu helmed by Nobu Matsuhisa featuring freshly prepared, health-centric dishes.

O. Set to debut December 1st, the Four Seasons Naviva will open as a nearby offshoot of Four Seasons Punta Mita. The adults-only property features 15 luxury tents nestled within 48-acres of the forests of Riviera Nayarit, on the private peninsula Bahía de Banderas. The impressive guest tents have luxurious, open-air living rooms with plunge pools and views of the Pacific Ocean. A high-touch personalized experience is provided here, with activities including stargazing, visiting the home of a local artist, nocturnal forest bathing, sound therapy and breathwork. Naviva features two spa pods set within the forest, an outdoor gym, a pool, and a private beach, and guests have access to all of the amenities at Four Seasons Punta Mita which is located only 5 minutes away.
